Residential Energy Efficiency
Due to the high prevalence of older homes in Roseville, many residents have the capacity to upgrade the efficiency of their homes to reduce energy use and live more comfortably throughout the year.
Roseville’s Energy Action Plan Goal: Engage 1,400 residents annually through utility programs to help them learn how to make their homes more energy efficient
Residential Heating & Cooling
Through the various programs and rebates offered by Xcel Energy, there are many opportunities to save money and energy all year round.
Summer: Saver's Switch is a program that cycles your air conditioner off and on at 15 to 20 minute intervals while maintaining the fan (circulating cooled air throughout your home) on a few hot summer days a year. In exchange for participating in this program, you save on your electric bill every year.
Winter: Back-Up Relief Program is a program that allows Xcel to interrupt your primary electric heat source during the peak heating times (October through May) by automatically switching to a fossil-fuel backup.
All Year: AC Rewards is a program that allows you to experience a convenient, energy-saving lifestyle with long-term benefits. When subscribing to this program, you'll receive a onetime $75 enrollment bill credit for joining the AC Rewards program and earn $25 every year you participate in the program.
